Work on customer experience and product development.

If the product is not solving the problem then no marketing, no good message, no persuasive writing can help you sell them. First, develop an elite product that is hard to copy and solves the problem.

Define your ideal customers.

Who am I trying to attract? Be very specific.

Power of Focus:

Documentum went from a target customer group of millions to focusing on less than 1000. They put all their energy into these 1000 potential customers.

It worked for them and generated $100 Million.

Ask friends. And their friends. And their friends.

Existing network. Expand your existing network. Attend industry events, trade shows, and local startup meetups.

Get customer feedback early. Give away FREE to some of your targeted customers to get initial feedback from them.

Write elite, actionable blogs.

Deliver good, consistent content on your blog.

Write little dramatically, write enticingly, add little humor. Give interesting and valuable at the same time.

Content Marketing is the King.

  • No hard-selling in your content.
  • Write in your style and use your words and phrases.
  • Write your content strategy and content marketing and stick to your content marketing goals. Define all of them.

-Always give actionable content.

By continuously providing actionable content you attract loyal hoarders of readers.

Consistency is the biggest thing when it comes to creating content. Algorithms respect consistency. People respect consistency. Compounding happens through consistency.

How do you distribute your content?

  1. Fb, LinkedIn: Short description + Image + Link
  2. Twitter: Make a thread and add a post link
  3. Instagram: Image as post + story with a link.
  4. Pinterest: Make an Infographic
  5. Medium: Complete articles + Link to your blog or website or Newsletter
  6. Quora: Article with a link
  7. Community groups
  8. Podcasts and videos.

Guest blogging for influencers in your niche.

Provide a ton of value.

Do you know Buffer founder wrote 150 guest posts over the span of Nine Months?

Reach out to newsletter owners. Email them for guest blogging…

Once you get influencers to support you, they send you a great deal of consistent, high-quality traffic quickly. Stay consistent in creating content.

Find your internet tribe and Blend In.

  • Reddit, Quora, Product Hunt, HackerNews, GrowthHackers.
  • Facebook & LinkedIn groups. e.g. SAAS Growth Hacks, Tropical MBA.
  • Tip: Find new online communities and serve them.
  • Make your brand known on these forums.
  • Try to be genuinely useful in your community.

Cold emailing.

  • Conversational and light tone.
  • Clear CTA
  • No Salesy pitch.

Write persuasive emails and landing pages that can make them take action. Spend more time with this.

Write as if you are chatting with the person.

Use emails to connect influencers, pitch investors, build relations with partners and share with the press.

Aim to make a real connection.

Humor is everything. Use it.

Give stuff for FREE to generate leads. E.g. eBooks, White papers, Guides, etc.

Give away a lot of value for Free, and show that you are an expert. E.g. You can write an e-book that contains detailed information that your target customers are looking for, and ready to pay for it. Something like, “How to run a software development company?”

Affiliate Marketing:

Pay them for actual conversions.

  • Research about them.
  • Communicate
  • Give them FREE your product.
  • Ask if they promote it.
  • Give them a good share generously.
  • Give their discount coupons.

PartnerStack Check this tool if it can be useful.

Find other places to find Affiliate Marketers.

If you can find influencers and affiliate marketers then this could be gold for you. Because they already have an audience who trust in them. If you can create a product that helps them achieve their goals then they will buy from you.

Treat them like royalty.

Those first few customers should get all the attention in the world. Send them Thank you Email. Mention them on social media. Make them heroes.

Try Google Ads, then Facebook Ads. Make a kind of product that can self itself.

The idea behind this is, on Google people are actively searching for solutions. So, it’s wise to put your solution in front of them.

Also try LinkedIn, Twitter Ads.

Tip: Depict emotions in ads posts. What benefits they will get. Research already worked ads.

Call To Action

Every web page should be an opportunity to capture new leads. Every PAGE.

Use Twitter for market research.

Josh found his first few hundred users by searching Twitter for people complaining about the problem he was solving for.

People love to complain on Twitter. They use it as a way to publically call out companies, so it’s a great way to find pain points.

Generate more social proof across other sites.

Blogging to increase visibility, traffic, and demand for your product.

On our landing page, I can add Numbers of Lessons, Case studies, and total users count in order to show how our product is socially accepted by other entrepreneurs. I can add reviews.

Smartly craft your landing pages. Get rid of non-performing assets. Focus on Benefits over features.

Network.

There are no better ways to raise brand awareness than meeting new people, telling them who you are and what you do.

Product Hunt

Launch on Product Hunt or a similar platform.

Find out what makes your product unique and what benefits and features will appeal to your customers.

Before you start writing copy make sure you know the customer, product, and how they are gonna use it.

  1. Describe your product.
  2. What’s unique and special about the product?
  3. Benefits? Big one
  4. What pain does it alleviate?
  5. What features are included and what are the benefits to each?

There is more to it, which I will keep sharing on my upcoming blogs. Also, you can subscribe to my newsletter here: https://www.getrevue.co/profile/yaashaswi
